We star our
journey from Fiskebäckskil We head towards Grundsund and the narrow, beautiful canal there. Listening to the gulls
early morning concert we go into the harbour where the fishermen lives in
the houses close to the canal. Then we continue to the Gåsö archipelago,
thru the nature harbours of the Vasholmarna and going north following an old
ships fairway. Here we might see some seals on the islets. In this early
morning, a marine biologist joins us onboard he/she will undertake a test
from the bottom of the sea and explain to us what the sediments can tell us.
Furthermore, you will get an explanation to the different zones that you can
see in the water surface on the islands and islets.
Around 10 am, we
moor at the Stora Kornö where you have an opportunity to stroll among the
oldest sheds on the coast in a typical summer island. We continue and cross
the Brofjorden which is one of the worlds most secure fairway for commercial
shipping. In a while, we arrive in Smögen, enter the harbour, and show you
one of the most popular guest harbours in Bohuslän. We do not stop here; we
continue our voyage thru the Soten canal. We pass Hunnebostrand and if the
weather allows we moor on the island Dannemark for a brief stop and have a
picnic lunch on the beach. It might be nice to take a refreshing dip into
the sea, towels and bathrobes we supply.
